Dev Log Update

Last Frontier Hunters Journey is being developed with procedural content generation (PCG), ensuring that every playthrough will be unpredictable and unique. The world is constantly changing, and even the development team doesn’t know exactly where everything will be located. Mission-related areas are the only known locations, with the rest being randomly generated through PCG and population control across approximately 400 spawners.
Key Features:
- Dynamic Wildlife: Deer with growing antlers and a fully dynamic antler system will be featured. Antlers will evolve over time, adding depth to the wildlife experience.
- Realistic Ballistics and Bleed Systems: The game features a complex ballistics system where each weapon affects the bleed rate and damage based on the organs hit. The color of the blood trail will also change, depending on which organ is struck, making tracking a more nuanced experience.
- Cold Weather Hazards: Guns have a chance to freeze and jam in the cold, adding another layer of survival challenge in the harsh environment.
- Survival Elements: Players will be dropped off by helicopter with no way to leave until the helicopter returns. If they fail to prepare or lose their gear, it won’t be easy to replace. However, players can earn money through various activities beyond hunting, and if they can make their way back to their lost gear, they can recover it. Extended trips require careful planning and resource management.
The game is planned for an Itch.io release first, to gather feedback from early testers. This approach makes it easier to collect insights before pushing toward a final release on Steam.
Development is progressing well, and the team is excited for players to experience the unpredictable and immersive world of Last Frontier Hunters Journey.
